چکیده

Dynamic environments, such as wireless mesh networks, require flexible and self-adaptive mechanisms to control topology and medium access. Conventional algorithms, developed for quite stable networks, either do not work properly in this new environment or perform poorly. This work intends to study and develop dynamic and self-adaptive strategies to control the topology and the medium access for wireless mesh environments. Wireless Public Safety Networks, are an extreme case where dynamic and self-adaptive controls become important. Even though the proposed schema intends to be general and adapted to any wireless mesh network, we believe that we can benefit if we succeed in applying our method to highly dynamic and unpredictable networks, as it is the case of public safety networks (PSNs). The early evaluations of the technique proposed here show the method is able to successfully handle the different requirements and variation of PSNs.

Multi-layer Clustering Topology Design in Densely Deployed Wireless Sensor Network using Evolutionary Algorithms

Due to the resource constraint and dynamic parameters, reducing energy consumption became the most important issues of wireless sensor networks topology design. All proposed hierarchy methods cluster a WSN in different cluster layers in one step of evolutionary algorithm usage with complicated parameters which may lead to reducing efficiency and performance. In fact, in WSNs topology, increasin...

Quasi Random Deployment Strategy for Reliable Communication Backbones in Wireless Sensor Networks

Topology construction and topology maintenance are significant sub-problems of topology control. Spanning tree based algorithms for topology control are basically transmission range based type construction algorithms. The construction of an effective backbone, however, is indirectly related to the placement of nodes. Also, the dependence of network reliability on the communication path undertak...

Topology Control in Wireless Sensor Network using Fuzzy Logic

Network sensors consist of sensor nodes in which every node covers a limited area. The most common use ofthese networks is in unreachable fields.Sink is a node that collects data from other nodes. One of the main challenges in these networks is the limitation of nodes battery (power supply). Therefore, the use oftopology control is required to decrease power consumption and increase network acce...

Classification and Comparison of Methods for Discovering Coverage Loss Areas in Wireless Sensor Networks

In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accuracy and cost, in order to study the Earth's surface. One of the most important challenges in this area, is the signaling network coverage and finding holes. In recent years, wireless sensor networks data is taken into consideration as an ideal source, in terms of speed, accurac...
